Project Highlights
Designed and supported a multilingual public-awareness campaign on mercury use and environmental risks in Suriname's artisanal and small-scale gold mining sector, including stakeholder outreach and communication materials for radio, television, social media and hard-copy distribution.
Contributed to the design of an equitable REDD+ benefit-sharing mechanism for Belize, including benefit options, stakeholder consultations, legal and institutional analysis, safeguard considerations, risk management, a roll-out action plan and capacity-building measures.
Developed a national feedback and grievance redress mechanism for REDD+ implementation in Belize, including procedures to receive, process and investigate stakeholder complaints, strengthen accountability and respect FPIC principles in engagement with Indigenous and Tribal Peoples.
Supported Indigenous communities in Suriname to articulate a shared development vision and action plan for community-based agro- and eco-tourism, creating a sustainable livelihood pathway linked to cultural heritage, biodiversity conservation and reduced dependence on extractive practices.
Led gender and social inclusion assignments that translated diagnostics and stakeholder engagement into practical action plans, including gender-responsive frameworks for natural resource governance, social protection, financial inclusion and project preparation.
Conducted baseline and gender research across 11 communities in Belize, including household-level data collection and analysis to establish benchmarks for climate-resilient livelihoods, project monitoring, evaluation and future public education activities.
